The University of Stirling \u2013 Ras Al Khaimah Campus organized a Guest Lecture on \u201cEnhancing Quality of Research Publication\u201d<\/strong> as part of its continuous efforts to promote research excellence, academic development, and scholarly engagement among students and faculty members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The session was delivered by Dr. Shaista Anwar<\/strong>, Head of the Accounting and Finance Department at Liwa College, UAE, who shared extensive insights into the contemporary landscape of academic research and publication practices. The lecture focused on the importance of producing high-quality, impactful, and ethically sound research publications that contribute meaningfully to academic and professional communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the session, the speaker discussed various aspects of the research publication lifecycle, including identification of research gaps, literature review strategies, manuscript structuring, journal selection criteria, indexing systems, citation practices, peer-review mechanisms, and publication ethics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Participants were also introduced to the importance of selecting appropriate Scopus- and Web of Science-indexed journals and understanding quality indicators such as impact factor, CiteScore, and quartile rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The lecture further highlighted common challenges faced by researchers during manuscript preparation and submission processes, including plagiarism concerns, predatory journals, formatting issues, reviewer comments, and publication delays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Practical strategies for improving research quality, enhancing academic writing skills, and increasing publication success rates were discussed through real-world examples and case-based explanations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The interactive nature of the session encouraged active participation from students and faculty members.
