The University of Stirling – Ras Al Khaimah Campus successfully organized a guest lecture on “Financing Your New Venture” on 3rd March 2023. The session was delivered by CA RSR Murthy, FCA and Former CEO of Madison, who shared valuable professional insights into startup financing, investment planning, and entrepreneurial financial management.
The lecture focused on the financial aspects of establishing and managing a new business venture and introduced students to various funding sources, financial planning strategies, and investment considerations relevant to startups and entrepreneurial businesses. Students gained practical understanding of how entrepreneurs secure funding, manage business finances, evaluate investment opportunities, and sustain long-term business growth.
Drawing from his extensive industry and leadership experience, CA RSR Murthy discussed the importance of financial discipline, budgeting, risk management, cash flow planning, and strategic decision-making within entrepreneurial environments. The session also explored funding avenues such as self-financing, angel investors, venture capital, bank financing, and investor pitching strategies commonly used by startups and emerging businesses.
Students were provided with real-world examples and practical guidance on preparing business plans, understanding financial projections, and communicating financial viability to stakeholders and investors. The lecture highlighted the role of sound financial management in ensuring business sustainability and competitive advantage within dynamic market environments.
