Open Shift Application Development

SFLDEC(Student Faculty Learning and Development Enhancement Call) Presents

Graduate Attributes: Work Readiness Program (WRP)

Purpose:
In line with our commitment to ensuring students have holistic development, we are rolling out a Work Readiness Program (WRP) for Computing and Software Development students, which follows a modular format where students will enroll and complete a certain number of hours followed by a reflection and employer report.

This WRP is designed to give students a sound underpinning of theories learned in their lectures and will provide a foundation for the development of key transferrable skills that will assist students in securing placement and developing their chosen career.

  • Tactics on how to secure employment.
  • Transferable skills to enable and manage themselves, colleagues, and clients/stakeholders within an organisation.
  • An awareness of the importance of commerciality.

Project Open Shift Application Development will be carried out in collaboration with Planet One International Education (POIE) and RedHat Talent Academy. The purpose of this project is to provide an opportunity for students to enrol for a professional certfication course leading to becoming a Certified Professional in Open Shift Application Development (OSAD). Candidates will undergo a rigorous hands-on online certificate course on OSAD and the successful candidate will be a part of RedHat’s Talent Academy Network resulting in an internship in the IT industry. Also, candidates will receive discounted vouchers to appear for the Certification exam which will add a significant recognition in your career path.
